Martin and Patrick discover a disease-ridden test subject in the bowels of the lab. While they do, Simone confides in Fie while Rasmus confides in Sarah again, with him now fully convinced that he does not desire the cure. Meanwhile, Martin and Patrick continue into the strange viral lab they discovered.

With that experience, the pain of not being able to administer the full dose, Rasmus no longer wants to undergo the cure. However, while unconscious he felt like he was dying as the virus died with him. Rasmus is unable to administer the full dose on himself, and is simply knocked out. The voices drive him insane, and he rushes to the cure and injects himself while his younger self screams in denial. He is plagued by voices, assuring him that "there's nothing wrong with us", with the virus seemingly able to know of Simone's plan to kill him if the cure fails. Simone insists that it isn't ready, and sends him back to his room - alone, with his thoughts. Afterward, Rasmus finally snaps and comes before Simone, demanding to have the cure early so that he can rid himself of his visions. She comforts him as well, and they dance together, remembering their good memories. Jean comes before Lea, who can tell that he is afraid of losing her. While they do, Rasmus is continually plagued by visions of his younger self, urging him not to cure himself. They detour around a large, growing swathe of diseased plant-life that seems to follow them as they walk, to reach their destination at a viral research lab. Patrick and Martin continue on, with Patrick noting his desire for a family and a life once he escapes. Martin and Patrick narrowly avoid capture by Apollon, who are rounding people up into large groups, with Sten himself promising them that if they capture Rasmus, they will be allowed to leave the zone. Later, Jean comes to Simone and asks how he can get over his fear of losing Lea, so Simone comforts him. As he does, he is once again confronted by his younger self twice this time. He insists that he must, to be with her, but she gets angry and so he leaves. Rasmus confides in Sarah, revealing how uncertain he is about the cure now, and she agrees that he should not cure himself. Simone accepts the risk, and reveals that she'll have to kill Rasmus if the cure fails. However, Patrick only knows where to look, not what exactly must be done to remove them.īack in the lab, Fie explains to Simone that the cure is a risky and irreversible procedure.

Martin himself is comforted by Patrick as they continue in search of a way to remove the viral capsules from their bodies, to escape the zone. Simone, meanwhile, continues preparing the cure and is comforted by Lea, reassuring her that she was right to leave Martin.
